Laser Diode 600-700nm
Naked laser diode with no collimator or other beam forming optics.
The first commercial laser diodes were in the red and infrared spectrum. Because of this, the first solid-state laser projectors were built using 660nm diodes from mass-produced DVD players. 660nm diodes are quite dark, but mix great with other wavelengths. After some time brighter diodes (in the 640nm range) were developed which offered more visibility in the show sector. Now it was possible to retrofit old HeNe and DPSS lasers with pure diode setups.
We offer a small range of red single-mode and multi-mode diodes. In the laser display sector, single-mode diodes are mostly used as an array of diodes while multi-mode diodes alone have more power but worse beam characteristics. Higher powered multi-mode diodes are ofter used in video projectors or vision systems.
